Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He was one of the members of One Direction. Harry Styles was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on February 1st, 1994. He's also the son of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles was a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. There, three of his classmates created a band known as White Eskimo. In 2009, they took part in the Battle of Bands where thanks to their impressive performances they were winners. The musician always had an interest in music, but he was aspiring to be physical or legal therapist. To help support his loved ones, he volunteered for a short time working part-time at a local baker. Harry Styles auditioned for The X Factor in 2010, and did Is not She Lovely, a Stevie Wonder song. He was picked. This is why his band broke up. Nicole Scherzinger proposed to Harry Styles to become member of a brand new group, One Direction. The others were Liam Payne Zayn Mallik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell was the sponsor of the group that started in 2010. During the competition the band were singing songs like My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson and Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler so the group became one of the candidates for the prize. They ended up the third spot behind Rebecca Ferguson, and the winner Matt Cardle. However, Harry Styles and his group failed to win the competition, Cowell signed a deal worth 2 million pounds for One Direction to sign with the Syco Record label.
